Defense of the Ancients
Defense of the Ancients or DotA as what we always call it is a custom map for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, based on the “Aeon of Strife” map for the Blizzard title Starcraft. Pinoy gamers mostly in internet cafes find it “easier to learn” than playing the normal game in Warcraft III as it only focuses on hero combat and of course team strategy, but don’t let this fool you. Even though you only have to control a single hero it doesn’t mean it’s that easier. As pinoyGR team observes, knowing what exactly your hero’s capabilities is just the 30% part of winning, you also need to know your enemy strengths and weaknesses so that you’ll know what items to build and what skills to level-up first, hell!, even prolonging or delaying your creeps arrival from one spot to another is strategy. Another important thing to know is your opponent, the guy who’s controlling the enemy hero, why?, base on our experience we’ve been seeing gamers fighting each other shouting tangna mo!!!, madaya ka! because of the seriousness of this game, so when a fight breaks out you’ll know what to do. For more information and strategy guides for this game we’ve posted external links below.
